Florida construction accident causes multiple injuries

Three construction workers were recently seriously injured in a construction collapse in northern Florida. The three men fell about 25 feet when the floor they were working on collapsed. All three men were transported to the hospital following the construction accident for treatment of their injuries. One worker who sustained the most serious injuries is being treated for spinal trauma. Ten other construction workers were in the area at the time of the collapse but declined medical treatment.

The construction accident took place on a rooftop of a construction expansion project. Construction on the project has been suspended pending a review of the incident. Unfortunately, construction workers can suffer a variety of serious, and even potentially fatal, injuries on a construction site. Injuries can include neck, back and spinal cord injuries and broken bones, among other serious injuries construction workers may suffer.

When a construction worker suffers a construction accident-related injury, their livelihood and the ability to support their family is threatened. They will likely face mounting medical bills as they struggle to recover and an inability to work because of the injuries they have suffered. Fortunately, workers' compensation benefits are available to help injured construction workers with the medical and financial challenges they face following a construction accident.

Workers' compensation benefits are unquestionably important to many injured construction workers and their families, however, the process to obtain them may not be straightforward. It is important for injured victims and their families to ensure they understand the process of applying for workers' compensation benefits so they can make sure they are receiving their full benefits and all the aid they are entitled to receive to help them get back on their feet following a construction accident.
